Honored to Be Endorsed by One of My Heroes
In the autumn of 1992, a young law school student asked if he could volunteer a couple of days a week of public service in my Atlanta office. Today it is my honor to wholeheartedly endorse that young man, George Dusenbury, for Decatur City Commission. I urge you to support George and vote for him on November 5. Based on my decade of work with George and more than a quarter century of friendship, I can assure you that Decatur would be fortunate to have someone of his experience and character on the City Commission.
As a student volunteer, George showed up and did what he was asked – and more. When he graduated, I was pleased to give him a job. I relied upon George to advise me on a range of issues, and he became an expert on the environment, transportation, housing and financial policy. I trusted George to meet with mayors, civic leaders, and community organizations. He was also someone I had faith could sit with a family struggling to stay in their home. George not only listened, he sought to understand people and their concerns. George was equally attentive to the powerful and powerless alike. We share many of the same values, a passion to help others, and a drive to make the world a better place. Since leaving my office, George has empowered hundreds of people across Atlanta to make their communities better and improve their quality of life. George is a compassionate, good person with a lovely family who would make an excellent City Commissioner. I am excited to see George take the next step in public service. I urge your support.
